Intra-atrial block is an impairment of the passing of an electrical impulse along the conducting system of atria. In tachycardia, there is seen the phenomenon of overlapping of the U wave with the P wave in the following cardiac cycle and it is manifested by an increase in the duration of the P wave and can be mistakenly accepted for the first degree intra-atrial block.
