This report analyzes data from surveys and interviews of state and local law enforcement agencies regarding the use of sobriety checkpoints, dedicated alcohol-impaired driving (DUI) enforcement patrols, and other DUI enforcement strategies. Interview topics included enforcement activities, frequency of use, use of preliminary breath test devices, use of passive alcohol sensors, use of search warrants, whether activities were publicized, and challenges in conducting enforcement.
