TL;DRAbstract

Comparable data is needed on preventive health services for children, enabling municipalities to monitor their own activities, as well as national follow-up activities.The first national survey on maternity and child health clinic activities was carried out in 2004 (Hakulinen-Viitanen et al. 2005).The present survey, which was called Planning and Management of Preventive Health Services for Children and Young People at Health Centres, was performed as part of the Benchmarking of Local Health Promotion Capacity (TedBM) project by STAKES.With respect to maternity and child health clinic activities, the survey was carried out by the Development and Research Centre for Maternity and Child Health Care.This report presents the results of the survey.The results are compared with national recommendations and, where applicable, with the data collected in 2004.A survey was sent to health centres' (N = 231) management groups in May 2007.They were asked to co-ordinate their replies with their coll
