The paper holds that Yu Hua's Brothers (Vol. 1) and Dong Xi's Records of Regret are both the memories of the Cultural Revolution based on body experience and maintain the literary tradition of the enlightenment narration inherited from the May 4 Movement. Initially, through a discussion of the plots of the individual's peeping at the woman's hip in Brother (Vol. 1) and the co-watching dogs' copulation in a crowd in Records of Regret, the paper analyzes the absurd body experience of the common people in China. Based on their present-day understanding of body experience with a hyperbolic and ironic description of the ridiculous and lamentable body, it is the two writers' shared will to expose the maleficent ”crimes” of the historical rationality of the Cultural Revolution and the suppressing of human nature by moral restrictions.
