TL;DRAbstract

The purpose of this thesis is to study the attitude towards\ncomics among librarians as well as their personal image of\nthe overall attitude towards comics among librarians and the\nmanner in which the attitude of the librarians affects how the\ncomics are treated in the library.\nI have performed this study with a qualitative approach and\nhave interviewed a total of five librarians working in two\ndifferent libraries.\nI have founded the theoretical base for my research in a\nnumber of historical attitudes towards comics and then\ncompared these attitudes towards the answers given in the\ninterviews as well as prior research found in three theses\nwritten by Magnus Johansson, Sarah Johansson and Karin\nEsaiasson.\nThe results of the study is that traces of most of the\nhistorical attitudes can be found among all of the interviewed\nlibrarians but that none of them are harboring any negative\nattitudes towards comics themselves.
