Modeling of greywater systems to produce more rational sizing strategies

R Gwyn Brooks-2013-01-01-UPT. Syiah Kuala University Library (Syiah Kuala University)

TL;DRAbstract

Water recycling is a mandatory issue and greywater recycling has been identified as a solution to this problem. Using a greywater recycling system can save up to a third of mains water. Previous research has found that the efficiency of a greywater system depends on the user behaviour and size of the system. This paper looks at user behaviour and previous sizing strategies to identify any gaps in knowledge and the procedure in creating and developing a volume and more sophisticated flow model programme to simulate a greywater system. These models will then be used to analyse the factors affecting the effiency. The results will be presented with a conclusion to whether any changes need to be made to the current British Standard sizing method.
