TL;DRAbstract

Experimental results from a low-temperature test program on magnesium alloys are reported. The new data include: (1) tensile properties of cast AZ91C-T6, AZ92A-T6, EZ33A-T5, HK31A-T6, QE22A-T6, and ZH62A-T5 alloys at −320, −109, 75, 200, and 300 F; (2) notched and unnotched Charpy impact strength of these same alloys at 75, −109, and −320 F; and (3) tensile properties of extruded HM31A-T5 alloy at −320, −109, and 75 F. Previously published low-temperature properties of commercial magnesium sheet and extrusion alloys are also reviewed.
