Eléments pour une approche bioéconomique du paysage
TL;DRAbstract
The aim of this paper is to provide a bioeconomic approach of landscape that allows for analysing the physical links between natural environment and the agricultural production process to which landscape is related. Our analysis relies on an extension of the Georgescu-Roegen approach on funds and flows applied to an agricultural production process with landscape. Because of the joint production property, the process produces both a commodity output and landscape (non-commodity output). At the same time, however, the production of the commodity output requires artificial energy (pesticides, chemical fertilizers), which implies a waste flow. Finally, this flow, by polluting the environment, may threaten the production of landscape. Whenever waste is produced, the production process becomes increasingly irreversible and the agricultural production process, increasingly unsustainable. To protect landscape production in the long run, we propose considering some relevant attributes, which ar
