Power quality analysis of wind generator connected to the weak grid during low wind speed
TL;DRAbstract
Power quality analysis based on measurements performed on wind generator during low wind speed is presented in the paper. Wind generator is connected via 10 kV cable to the distribution network, where grid is weak with low value of short-circuit power. Influence of utility power supply to other consumers at the point of common coupling of the wind generator is compared with limits per EN50160 standard. Impact of wind generator to the utility is examined using methodology from IEC and IEEE standards and technical guidelines. In detail, maximum permissible values of current harmonics is calculated according to the short-circuit power of the grid at the connection point and compared with results obtained from measurements. Results from performed analysis are used for new technical guidelines for connecting renewable energy sources into the power network of Serbia.
