Síntese verde, caracterização e atividade biológica de nanopartículas de prata obtidas utilizando extratos de Hancornia speciosa Gomes - Apocynaceae (mangabeira)

TL;DRAbstract

Metal nanoparticles (MNPs) synthesis by biological systems is known as green synthesis or biosynthesis. It may be performed either by prokaryotic or eukaryotic organisms or by thereof parts. This MNPs synthetic route is mediated by biological components capable of reducing the metal instead of using toxic compounds for reducing the metal ion. In this context, this study used aqueous extracts from the fruit (peel, pulp and seed) and leaves of Hancornia speciosa Gomes (mangabeira) for silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) synthesis. Among other properties, these MNPs present antimicrobial activity. Therefore, biological tests concerning AgNPs activity were performed. AgNPs characterization included spectrophotometry, dynamic light scattering (DLS), surface Zeta potential, electrical conductivity and atomic force microscopy (AFM). Although the green synthesis mechanisms are not yet clearly elucidated, it is known that Ag + bioreduction and Ag 0 stabilization are performed by plant extract primary
