Brazil is one of the main focuses of immigrants, skilled and unskilled, in South America. It aims to show how the current political treatment of immigrant workers provide elements that build the ideal figure of a high-skilled immigrant. The analytical approach focuses on the period from 1980 -this year when Law No. 6815 was established -until 2014, when even the enactment of Law and year of submission of this study. Initially draws an overview of the international migration context for Brazil from the perspective of a high-skilled immigration for job, detecting the origins of the immigration process workers in their historical aspects. Then, presents evidence of historiographical Brazilian immigration legislation facing the immigrant worker such as the main orientations of labor immigration legislation until the 1980s and the creation of the Statute of the Alien, also in 1980.
