TL;DRAbstract
Known for his formation of seventeenth-century congregation-alism, this article argues that within Henry Jacob’s articulation of church government, the office of the pastor functions as a keystone of the congregation in the New Testament church. This survey is the product of both synthesis and analysis of the works of Henry Jacob. For the former, a simplified and systematic formulation of Jacob’s pastoral theology is seen in seven broad areas. For the latter, an effort is made to reflect on each area’s contribution to the thesis of the pastor as congregational keystone.
