This study is aimed at describing the interaction between teacher and students in the English teaching using Competency-based Curriculum to the first year students of SMPN 7 Wonogiri in order to increase the students’ motivation and the students’ ability in learning process using Competency-based Curriculum. The writer uses descriptive qualitative research. The data used in this research are derived from event, informant, and document analysis. The data are quoted from the observation and interview with the teacher and students.
