An organisation's culture develops over time from a set of core managerial values that define the ways in which a firm conducts business. Increased competition has highlighted the importance of an organisational culture that facilitates adaptation to changing conditions within the business environment. Changes within the business environment require new and creative ways of organising and managing firms. An organisational culture that supports creativity and influences the adoption of innovative practices, products and services improves an organisation's ability to remain competitive. Most previous research on creative and innovative organisational cultures has focused on manufacturing and high technology industries. Few studies have investigated such a culture within the specialised context of professional services firms.
