TL;DRAbstract
In this contribution, I want to celebrate our South African diversity and the freedom of thought after 1994. I want to share my thoughts on the journey from being raised and educated in the pre-democratic (apartheid) white Christian National dispensation. I was however since 1982, exposed to the complexities of diversity during study visits abroad. In the 1990s, when I became a lecturer and researcher in post-apartheid South Africa, I experienced the complexity of being a lecturer and researcher in religion in education (RiE).
