TL;DRAbstract

Th is paper seeks to point out both the infl uence of Cusanus’s thought on Frank and Frank’s departure from Cusa in his concept of God-manhood from Cusa’s dues creatus: in arguing that the intellectus precedes the dialectical operating ratio, both thinkers agree that eve though being is defi ned essentially through its fi niteness, the human mind is able to reveal that the quale of the infi nite belongs essentially to human nature. But while for Cusa man as dues creatus remains a not-yet-fully-actualizad image of the coincidentia oppositorum (with the result that man is infi nitely valuable in himself) for Frank this characteristics affi rms the quality of God-manhood.
