In university, these include undergraduate education, professional education, and research training. Many schools also offer lifelong learning, continuing education, and executive education. Some schools offer vocational training and special courses. Design is both a field of professional practice and a research discipline. The plural dimensions of research and practice both affect curriculum needs.
