TL;DRAbstract

From basic studies on the role of bacterial chaperones in ribosome biogenesis emerged the exciting possibility that these proteins may become attractive targets in some pathological situations. In this short review I have emphasized the possibility of joining the vast knowledge accumulated on the basic properties of bacterial and eukaryote chaperones with the aim of using these proteins in the fight of human pathologies caused by microbial agents.
