Le concept de « Décentrement » dans l’écriture et la traduction de The Voice de Gabriel Okara
TL;DRAbstract
This study examines the validity of Meschonnic's concept of «décentrement» (decentering) in accounting for Nigerian author Gabriel Ohara's novel The Voice written in a «transliterated» English version of his native Ijaw. The same concept applies to assess past and prospective translations of The Voice since in both creation and translation the conflict and cross-fertilization of cultures in hegemonic situations need to be accounted for.
