SOCIAL PERFORMANCE OF CHILDREN WITH PROFOUND DEAFNESS OF CORDOBA CITY: PRELIMINARY RESULTS The study of social performance is particularly interesting in populations that have other communication devices, such as deafness, to which are added the effects of social behavior in the short and long term. On this basis, the objective of this study was to analyze the social performance of profoundly deaf children of Cordoba city in comparison with the performance of children with normal hearing. Participants were 64 children between 7 and 12 years old, 32 children with profoundly deaf and the rest with normal hearing. We administered versions of self-report and assessment of teacher of the MESSY scale. We performed several analysis of variance considering the following factors: group (with and without deafness), sex and age group. The results showed differences according to group in some dimensions and total score of the self-report version, deaf children showing higher levels of social inade
