An Electrochemical Investigation of Corrosion of Superheater Tube in Waste Incineration Environment

2

TL;DRAbstract

Abstract The corrosion behavior of Fe, Cr, Ni ,and two commercial alloys in molten chloride/sulfate mixture and chloride mixture was evaluated by potentiodynamic polarization and free corrosion potential measurements at 350°C and 560°C Cr is effective to suppress corrosion in molten chloride/sulfate mixture, whereas Ni is effective for molten chloride. Mo works to suppress corrosion in nobler potential regime. Both O2 and H2O are considered to act as an oxidant in chloride/sulfate mixture as in chloride salt.
