Polarographic investigation on complex equilibria in Cd(II)-substituted thiourea halide system in aqueous solution

0

TL;DRAbstract

Two ligand mixed complex formation between Cd(II) and both Methylthiourea and Bromide has been investigated in water solution at = 25 °C and $LiClO_4$ 0.5 M by Polarography. Mixed constants for the reactions $i/m CdX_m + j/m CdY_m = CdX_iY_j$ (i + j = m. Charges are omitted) are always positive independently from the coordination level m. Coordinated ligand (ligands) negatively affects (affect) the affinity of the incoming ligand when this is the same in nature, but more favourable free energy changes are calculated when the coordinated ligand (Iigands) and the incoming one are different.
