TL;DRAbstract

With the surface scanning technique described earlier we have been able to obtain the Raman spectrum of the highly sensitive compound nickelocene. We investigated the range of frequency shifts $< 1000 cm^{-1}$. At low temperature we found a site group splitting of the ring tilt mode and a factor group splitting of the symmetric metal ligand stretch. These two modes appear in the opposite order as compared with the isostructural ferrocene.
