TL;DRAbstract

With steel fiber reinforced ultra high performance concrete (UHPC) and high strength steel sustainable and slender structures can be achieved. Due to the increased load carrying capacity of the composite cross section the stresses in the composite joint also increase and, thus, the shear connectors have to meet higher requirements concerning the load carrying and deformation capacity. Headed studs are commonly used as shear connectors in composites structures. However, in combination with high strength materials they are not strong and ductile enough. For this reason, composite dowels, e.g. the innovative puzzle strip, are applied. In the present thesis the load carrying and deformation behavior of composite dowels in composite structures with high strength materials is examined. In this context, nu-merous experimental and theoretical investigations were performed. In push-out tests the load carrying capacity of the puzzle strip was investigated for various influencing parameters. The
