TL;DRAbstract

Due to the projected growth of the Boise-Nampa MSA’s over the next few decades the area’s transportation infrastructure could be extended beyond its capacity. We will focus our research on the transportation infrastructure in relation to Boise-Nampa MSA’s continuing growth. Our research will survey city and county future growth plans that address infrastructure expansion, public transit system enhancement and other strategies that promote a sustainable, livable community. The examination of the MSA’s public transit system will consist of looking at rideshare programs, future plans of the Valley Regional Transit (VRT) and other future plans intended to reduce total traffic volumes in the area. Our research will shed light on the potential strategies that can be implemented in the MSA as the number of automobiles on our roadways increase over time.
