TL;DRAbstract

Technical polymer blends can be identified by simple analytical techniques. First information on the chemical structure can be obtained by determining heteroatoms and investigating the pyrolysis and burning behaviour of the blends. Photoacoustic FTIR-spectroscopy and precipitation fractionation help to identify the components of the blends. For a number of applications it is shown that the best information is obtained when different analytical methods are combined.
