Von Trinkflaschen, Bands, Postern und Lesezeichen. Ein Streifzug durch eine private Sammlung von Librariana

Monika Bargmann-2006-01-01-edoc Publication server (Humboldt University of Berlin)

TL;DRAbstract

Even if libraries themselves have a history of several millennia, librarianship as a full-fledged profession is far younger. Maybe a reason for librarians dealing so intensively with their profession, their occupational image, their perception by others and their portrayal in fiction and motion pictures? A collector of librariana, having dealt for years with librarians’ occupational images (part job-related, but mainly out of personal interest), invites to a foray through her private collection meeting fictional librarians, library cartoons, librarian trading cards, bottles and bookmarks as part of a “library culture”.
