Today’s practitioners of work analysis face a host of challenges that must be met in order to build e ective high-performance human resource systems. Similar to many human resource activities, these challenges frequently stem from a lack of stakeholder acceptance regarding the critical nature of work analysis e orts. Although outlining the ways to address all of these challenges is beyond the scope of the present chapter, there is an underlying theme that pervades such criticisms-namely, the overall effi ciency with which thorough work analysis e orts can be undertaken.
