This work has by purpose at a theoretical comparative study and of field of methods of evaluation of the surface conditions, developed by international organisms, used in the maintenance management and conservation of unpaved roads.The methods were analyzed and applied in field: GPM -Gravel Paser Manual, with subjective methodology; URCI -Unsurfaced Road Condition Index; RSMS -Road Surface Management System; ERCI -Earth Road Condition Index and RCS/DVI -Road Condition Survey/Detailed Visual Inspection, with objective methodology.The theoretical analysis of sensibility of the methods related the classifications of the surface of the roads determined in function of the situations of the severity and extent degree and of a case study.The field experiment was accomplished in a section unpaved roads, divided in 5 branches, in two different periods.The theoretical results determined expressive values in the proposed correlations and the practical presented near values and the same classifica
