Influence of Co Doping on Crystal and Magnetic Properties of Gd2Cu2In

Ł. Gondek,A. Szytuła,D. Kaczorowski,A. Szewczyk,M. Gutowska,Yu. Tyvanchuk+1 more-2012-07-01-Acta Physica Polonica A

TL;DRAbstract

Physical properties of Gd2Cu2-xCoxIn (x = 0.1, 0.2, 0.3) samples are investigated. The paper brings results of X-ray diraction, magnetometric as well as specic heat studies. It was found that only sample with x = 0.1 exhibits desired crystal structure. Other compositions show existence of impurities due to lack of dissolution Co atoms. For Gd2Cu1.9Co0.1In sample the Curie temperature of 92.5 K was evidenced. Thus, an enhancement of ferromagnetic correlations with comparison to Gd2Cu2In sample was evidenced. It was found that Gd2Cu1.9Co0.1In sample exhibits magnetocaloric eect within broad temperature range.
