Some discussions about state tax reforms affirm that increasing the tax burden can be detrimental to private investment since it is one of the most important determinants for investment and therefore investors choose to invest in countries where the tax burden is less, other discussions claim that the services that can be provided by tax revenues are very useful and help private investment, receiving among other services, better trained labor force, better roads. This important difference in arguments opens a space for discussion in the Ecuadorian environment, where there have been 10 tax reforms since 2007 and seeks to understand what has been the impact of these.
