TL;DRAbstract

Photograph of a railway yard with a view of the city in the distance. Given the inscription on the image, that view presumably includes the plaster structures of the White City amusement park in Woollahra. Large buildings which are probably loco workshops can be seen on the left of the picture and on the right is a goods train and a number of wagons. There are also signal posts, track levers and steam or smoke emissions from activities near the workshops. The Eveleigh railway workshops were built between 1880 and 1886 and they continued to operate until 1989. In 1914 one tenth of NSW Department of Railways employees worked at Eveleigh.
