LAC theory, which is presented to optimize and to succeed the environmental loading capacity and environmental volume model, is an important theoretical basis to develop and protect the natural resources with a wide application. This paper, based on a brief introduction to LAC theory and its connotation and origin, summarizes its applications in tourism resources planning from Chinese researchers, analyzes the issues during theoretical studies and applications, presents views and strategies using LAD theory to mineral resources planning and management.
