A recent addition to F.M.W. Harrison’s papers deposited in the Angus Library is a small bundle of correspondence1 from the minister of Shoreditch, the Revd Ernest O. Clifford MA, sent to Harrison, his former church secretary and friend, between 1942 and 1945 when Harrison was serving in India.Ernest Clifford’s letters are dated 8 April 1942, 9 July 1942, 4 September 1942, 2 March 1943, 16 April 1943, 1 September 1943, 14 October 1943, 24 March 1944, 6 November 1944, 28 November 1944, 1 March 1945, and 29 April 1945. With them are the printed balance sheets of Shoreditch Tabernacle Baptist Church for 1942 and 1943, and the duplicated News Bulletins of the Shoreditch Tabernacle Young Peoples’ Christian Endeavour Society for November-December 1942, January-March 1943, April-July 1943, and December 1943.
