In the developing world, there are few countries that are improving with time. Despite foreign aid, trade agreements, and advising from international organizations, many countries still find themselves trapped in poverty. Those few countries which are developing are often doing so at the cost of human rights and environmental stability. However one small, young country in Eastern Europe is going against the trend. Kosovo. Independent as of 2008, Kosovo has already made significant strides towards its development while preventing the exploitation of its people and environment. This presentation examines how the political structure of a country has a larger impact on economic growth than many might realize, and has implications for future development policy.
