Abstract Different enzyme preparations have been investigated fqr use in the official method for thiamine (sec. 39.021). Purification of the phosphorolytic enzyme solutions used in this assay eliminates materials that fluoresce at the same wavelength as thiamine and thereby extends the limit of detection of the method to less than 0.004 μg thiamine/ml.
