TL;DRAbstract
Cyclic tests of solution spraying, water condensation, and air drying were conducted to study the corrosion rate and corrosion products of zinc and steel. The results demonstrate that wetting and drying pattern affects not only the corrosion rate but also the morphology of the corrosion products. The corrosion product formed on zinc under cyclic conditions was distinctively localized and had the effect of retarding the corrosion, while that formed on the steel surface was more uniform and had a less retarding effect.
