TL;DRAbstract

Pulp production is an important industry in Sweden, based on renewable and CO2 neutral forest wood feedstock. Most of the pulp is used for paper production. However, a number of drivers have combined to provide incentive to fi nd new highly refi ned products to complement existing products. New technologies under development open opportunities for refi ning almost all of the incoming wood feedstock into high-value products. The major challenge is to convert new scientific knowledge into industrial practice.
