TL;DRAbstract

Over the last two decades in particular, devices combining mechanical, electrical, and software functionalities, so-called mechatronic systems, became more and more important within all branches of the modern mass market. The reliability assessment of mechatronic systems is regarded to be one of the key issues in their acceptance. The present chapter aims to give an overview on the state of the art and some recent developments in this field.
