TL;DRAbstract

This article discusses specialized studies in the fields of both water supply and pollution control carried out by the Division of Research of the Ontario (Canada) Water Resources Commission. This article reports on evaluation studies on samples of powdered activated carbon and coagulant aids, the use of potassium permanganate for controlling tastes and odors in municipal water supplies, and pilot plant studies involving diatomaceous‐earth filters and the upflow solids contact process.
