TL;DRAbstract

The thesis deals with the impact of trade liberalization in a developing country : Tunisia. The issue is as follows : is agricultural liberalization contributing to economic growth in Tunisia or is liberalization having such detrimental consequences, in particular given the stabilisation measures concerning Tunisia, which makes it impossible ? The liberalization of agricultural trade does not exclusively encompass the elimination of tariff or quantitative barriers regulated by the International Agreements. The multitude of trade barriers makes it difficult to aggregate and tally them. For the purposes of this thesis, we have used year 1994 as the temporal benchmark to compare Tunisian trade before and after the signing of the Marrakech Agreement. The method to carry out a totally longitudinal analysis and to use a temporal benchmark was not previously used when dealing with agricultural liberalization in Tunisia.
