Abstract This chapter covers complications that can arise in anaesthesia, their risk factors, and prevention and management strategies. It starts with acid aspiration syndrome and high spinal, goes on to anaphylaxis, laryngospasm, and respiratory arrest, malignant hyperpyrexia, and suxamethonium apnoea. It finishes with monitoring the depths of anaesthesia and preventing awareness in the patient.
