TL;DRAbstract

The significance of concentration-slip velocity relationship obtained from the simple countercurrent flow arrangement of gas and solid streams in a conduit, is explained. The applicability of the relationship thus obtained to forward transport near limiting conditions is demonstrated. Also, the usefulness of the concentration-slip velocity relationship in predicting choking flowrates is demonstrated. Defining choking mathematically, a procedure to predict choking flow rates is presented which requires the knowledge of system properties only.
