TL;DRAbstract

Lapped beryllium coupons have been bonded to high strengths using sputtered aluminum coatings. The effects of coating thickness and short-term storage on bond strength were investigated, and it was determined that coatings as thin as 0.00025 in. and storage times of up to one week can result in high strength bonds. 9 figures.
