Background : Zinc is mostly used as adjuvant therapy of infectious disease because of its positive effects on cellular immune system. A lot of studies which proved the positive effects were conducted to zinc deficiency subjects. However, deleterious effects caused by high dose zinc had been found by several studies. These effects were either directly or through its interaction with other minerals, like iron and copper. However, the effect of different zinc concemtration diet on cellular immune response during typhoid fever has not been carried out. Objective : The aim of this study was to find out the effect of administration of various zinc concentration diets on cellular immune response of S. 00imurium infected Balb/C mice. Method : This research used post-test only control design. Eighty-eight male Balb/C mice, were divided into 2 groups : 40 mice for first group (measuring lymphocyte proliferation response and macrophage phagocytosis capacity study) and 48 mice for second group (
