Nov. 2003 Results of the 1st VOLTAIRE workshop, with special attention to TRMM and ground-observing systems by Jurg Joss*, Marco Gabella and Giovanni Perona * Motto, CH-6655 Intragna, [email protected] +41 91 796 1233 + Politecnico di Torino (Electronics Department) VOLTAIRE stands for “Validation Of muLTisensors precipitAtIon fields and numerical modeling in mediterRanEan test sites”. It is a RTD project, also within the EU Framework 5 Programme. The first workshop is held in Barcelona (October 6-8, 2003). Sessions on “Data Quality”, “Quantitative Precipitation Estimates”, “Numerical Modeling” and “Applications” are being held. Conclusions will be reported and possible links between the two EU projects will be discussed.
