Purified human globin messenger RNA CmRNA) was labeled in vitro with 9 and subjected to digestion with T, and pancreatic RNase. The digests were fractionated in two dimensions and gave characteristic fingerprint patterns. The fingerprints were similar to those obtained with =Plabeled cRNA transcribed from human globin cDNA by RNA polymerase. However, a small number of additional or new oligonucleotides were observed in the ‘7 fingerprints which were either absent or very faint in the fingerprints of the cRNA.
