TL;DRAbstract
Using panel data of Chinese provinces and municipalities from 2002 to 2007, the welfare effect of Chinese medical service price adjusting policy is analyzed by means of GMM. The conclusion is that: the policy reduces the outpatient fee and inpatient fee per time, and patients' economical burden. Besides, under the policy, drug expenditure of outpatients and inpatients and inpatients' examining expenditure per time decline, while outpatients' examining expenditure does not change significantly. Therefore, sticking to the direction of current medical service price adjusting policy and making supporting policies are important measures to improve the efficiency of the whole health system.
