Impacto do ato de cuidar na vida de cuidadores primarios de idosos dependentes

TL;DRAbstract

Objetive: This study has as objective to characterize primary caregivers of elderly people in the community with some degree of dependence and identify which are the factors of higher impact in their life. Methods: It had been interviewed 127 caregivers about socio-demographic characteristics, presence of anxiety/depression through Self-Reporting Questionnaire (SRQ-20) and burden of care trough Caregiver Burden Scale (CB Scale). The dependents were questioned about socio-demographic data, history of health, degree of dependence in the Activities of the Daily Living and presence of depression trough Geriatric Depression Scale (EDG-15). Results: The age average of the caregivers was 55,09 (13.32) years, the majority women, daughters , with up to 4 years of school.
