Prevalência e associação de sinais e sintomas de desordens temporomandibulares em pacientes com ausência de guia em incisivo e canino

TL;DRAbstract

The aim of the study was to verify if there is a significant association between the Anterior Guidance Absence (incisal guidance and canine guidance) and the signs and symptoms of temporomandibular disorders, correlating the data obtained through the anamnesic questionnaire and clinical exam, in patients treated at Center of Study and Treatment of the Stomatognathic System Disorders (CETASE) at Piracicaba Dental School, University of Campinas -UNICAMP.131 clinical forms of patients aged 18 -74, with anterior guidance absence, which had a diagnosis of temporomandibular disorders and were treated at CETASE.Reports related to TMJ were collected in the anamnesic questionnaire: articular noise, mandibular locking, difficulty open and close the mouth, mandibular displacement, sensation of deafness, perception of a buzz in the ears, and the articular pain; data related to evaluated signs were collected during the clinical exam: vertical dimension of high occlusion, vertical dimension of norma
